Packaging for Roly Poly multigrain bread

Roly Poly Bakery, located in New Britain, CT, is conducting a recall of its 20-ounce loaves of Roly Poly multigrain bread due to the presence of undeclared egg product. Individuals with egg allergies are at risk of experiencing severe or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these bread products.

The affected Roly Poly Multigrain Bread was distributed at various locations including Roly Poly Bakery, Polmart in CT, New Britain Market Place in CT, Bernat’s Deli in MA, and Golemo’s Market in MA.

The product is packaged in a 20-ounce clear plastic bag with product information displayed on the top and a bar-coded part number 5005-8723 on the bottom. Consumers who purchased this bread before 04/11/2024 are advised to check for this information.

As of now, no illnesses related to this product have been reported.

The recall was prompted by the discovery, during an audit, that a production employee mistakenly used an egg wash instead of water to apply sunflower or oat ingredients on the bread's surface.

Production of the bread has been halted until the issue is rectified to the satisfaction of CT Consumer Protection and the company.

Customers who bought the 20-ounce loaves of Roly Poly multigrain bread are encouraged to return the product to the place of purchase to receive a full refund.
