County Road Seafood Crab Cake
County Road Seafood, LLC., based in Belhaven, North Carolina, has issued a voluntary recall for its County Road Seafood Crab Cake 2 Pack 4 Ounce package due to the presence of undeclared egg. Individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs are at risk of experiencing a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they ingest these products.
The company was informed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services on May 15, 2024, that the packaging of the product failed to include egg in the list of ingredients. The crab cakes contain mayonnaise, which is egg-based and uses whole eggs as a binding agent.
As of now, there have been no reported cases of illnesses associated with this issue.
The affected product was distributed from August 26, 2022, to May 9, 2024, and does not have any UPC or lot codes. It is packaged in clear plastic and was sold to various distributor and retail locations in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Consumers who have purchased this item and have egg allergies or sensitivities should refrain from consuming it and dispose of it appropriately.
This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration.
