Gasaciods Children’s Multi-Purpose Helmet
The Gasaciods Children’s Multi-Purpose Helmets have been recalled due to non-compliance with various safety regulations set by the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission). These regulations include requirements related to positional stability, dynamic strength of the retention system, impact attenuation, and certification standards specifically designed for bicycle helmets. The failure to meet these standards means that the helmets may not provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of head injuries for users, particularly children.
As a remedy, consumers are advised to return the helmets for a refund.
The recall was initiated on April 18, 2024, affecting approximately 18 units of the product.
The recall involves Gasaciods Children’s multi-purpose helmets designed to fit head circumferences ranging from about 19-1/2 to 20-1/2 inches. These helmets were available in pink and blue colors, featuring red removable padding, black straps, and a black and red buckle. They are identifiable by a red plastic knob at the back with an LED warning light for adjustment. The helmets are labeled with “GASACIODS” on the sides.
Consumers are urged to cease using the recalled Gasaciods helmets immediately. They should then reach out to Fengwang Sports for a refund. To obtain a refund, consumers need to dismantle the helmet by cutting off the straps, take a photo of the dismantled helmet, and share it with the recalling firm. This can be done by emailing the photo to george66305@163.com or sending onsite messages to Fengwang Sports on Temu.com. After providing evidence of the helmet's destruction, consumers should dispose of the recalled helmets.
No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
The helmets were exclusively sold online at Temu.com between July 2023 and January 2024, priced between $23 and $42.
The importer of these helmets is Dongguan Feng Wang Sports Goods Co., Ltd., also known as Fengwang Sports, based in China.
The helmets were manufactured in China, and the recall number associated with this product is 24-201.
