Recalled BRS liquid fuel bottles
The BRS Liquid Fuel Bottles have been identified as hazardous due to their non-compliance with the child-resistant requirements outlined in the Children's Gasoline Burn Prevention Act (CGBPA). The closure mechanism on these portable fuel bottles does not meet the necessary standards for child-resistant features, which can lead to potential dangers such as burns and poisoning for children if accessed unsafely.
In response to this issue, the recommended course of action is to provide refunds to customers who have purchased these bottles.
The recall for this product was initiated on April 11, 2024, affecting approximately 1,600 units.
This recall involves BRS portable liquid fuel bottles sold individually. The BRS bottle is orange with a black cap and was available in three sizes: 530mL, 750mL, and 1000mL. The bottles feature the "BRS" logo, the bottle's volume, warnings, and/or directions in white lettering.
Consumers are advised to cease using the recalled fuel bottles immediately, keep them away from children, and contact Huenco for guidance on proper disposal procedures to receive a full refund.
There have been no reported incidents or injuries associated with these products.
The items were sold on Amazon.com between October 2018 and December 2023 for approximately $15.
The retailer, Huenco, is based in China, and the products were manufactured in China.
The recall number for this product is 24-192.
