Stockmeyer sliced prosciutto ham
ConSup North America Inc., a company based in Lincoln Park, New Jersey, is recalling about 85,984 pounds of ready-to-eat sliced prosciutto ham product. The ham was produced in Germany and did not undergo the required inspection process by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The RTE sliced prosciutto ham item was manufactured on different dates starting from September 25, 2023, and continuing through March 6, 2024. The following product is subject to recall:
These items were shipped to retail locations in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
The issue came to light when Germany’s Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety informed the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in the United States that a German company, H. Klümper GmbH & Co. KG, had manufactured a portion of the affected batches without undergoing the required inspection process. Subsequently, these products were exported to the U.S. for distribution.
At present, there have been no confirmed instances of negative reactions resulting from the consumption of these goods. However, individuals who are worried about any potential adverse effects should seek advice from a healthcare professional.
FSIS is concerned that some of the items could be present in the refrigerators of consumers or retailers. It is strongly advised that individuals who have bought these products refrain from consuming them. The recommended course of action is to dispose of the items or return them to the store where they were purchased.
