Arctic Cat MY24 Catalyst 600 snowmobile

The Arctic Cat Model Year 2024 Catalyst 600 snowmobiles steering caps, responsible for securing the handlebar, have been found to be susceptible to cracking. This issue can lead to unstable handlebars, creating a risk of accidents. To address this hazard, the manufacturer has issued a recall for the affected snowmobiles.

The recall was announced on May 9, 2024. Approximately 2,670 units are affected by this recall in the United States. Additionally, around 891 units were sold in Canada and are also included in this recall for necessary repairs.

The Arctic Cat recall pertains to the model year 2024 Catalyst 600 snowmobiles, including the ZR, Riot, and Mountain models, available in various colors. The model names can be found on the side panels of the snowmobiles. To identify the affected snowmobiles, consumers can check the 10th letter of the VIN, which will be an “R”. The VIN number is typically located on the tunnel section or the decal on the top/rear of the tunnel.

Consumers are advised to cease using the recalled Arctic Cat 2024 Catalyst 600 snowmobiles immediately and contact their local authorized Arctic Cat dealer to arrange a complimentary repair of the steering caps.

The manufacturer, Textron Specialized Vehicles based in Augusta, Georgia, has received 95 reports of incidents where steering caps cracked during initial snowmobile setups by dealers. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of this issue.

These snowmobiles were sold through Arctic Cat Dealers across the United States between September 2023 and April 2024, with prices ranging from $13,800 to $16,100.
