Culture King’s Magnetic Levitation Sneaker Display

The Sneaker Basel Double Magnetic Levitation Displays have been recalled due to safety concerns. The powerful magnets in the display can forcefully attract, break, splinter, and emit sparks, posing a serious risk of laceration. Moreover, if multiple magnets are ingested, they can attract each other in the digestive system, potentially causing blockages, twists, and perforations that may lead to severe complications such as infections and even death.

As a precautionary measure, consumers are advised to dispose of the product and seek a refund. The recall was initiated on March 21, 2024, and approximately 4,300 units are affected by this safety issue.

This recall involves two types of Culture Kings’ displays that were used at home to showcase floating pairs of sneakers. One model, CXF-22 is the Magnetic Levitation Sneaker Display 2, with a black or black/white rectangular frame. The other model, CXF-24B is the Stackable Magnetic Levitation Sneaker Display, with a black uppercase I-shaped frame. Both displays have LED lights and were sold with or without a remote control. They each included two magnets, counterweight beads, and a power adaptor. The Culture Kings logo is visible on the side of the display. This recall only applies to displays that can make two sneakers levitate.

Consumers are advised to immediately discontinue the use of the recalled displays, store them safely, and contact Culture Kings for a complete refund. It is recommended that consumers maintain a minimum distance of six inches between the magnets when handling them. If the magnets accidentally attract each other, consumers should refrain from trying to separate them. Consumers will be instructed to request complimentary "Recalled Product" stickers for the magnets and affix one sticker to the metal side of each magnet. Additionally, they should disable the display by cutting the power cord, take a photo of the stickered magnets and the disabled display, and upload it to the URL in the Contact box below. Once the refund is processed, consumers should dispose of both the magnets and sneaker display.

The company has been informed of an incident in the United States where the magnets collided and broke while in use, resulting in no injuries. The company has also been made aware of seven incidents in Australia where the magnets collided and shattered during use, leading to four minor injuries.
