Wesco, Inc., based in Muskegon, MI, is issuing a recall for 750 units of its Wesco Mint No Bake Cookie Bites due to the potential presence of undeclared peanuts. Individuals with a peanut allergy or severe sensitivity face a significant risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the affected products.

Wesco convenience stores in Michigan's lower peninsula received the Wesco Mint No Bake Cookie Bites that were affected.

Wesco Mint No Bake Cookie Bites, with UPC 750308040474, come in transparent 9 oz plastic cups. The following Sell Thru dates were affected:

03/15/2024, 03/16/2024, 03/17/2024, 03/18/2024.

Symptoms of allergic reaction include: hives, flushed skin or rash, tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth, swelling of the face, tongue, or lips, vomiting and/or diarrhea, abdominal cramps, coughing or wheezing, swelling of the throat and vocal cords, difficulty breathing, and loss of consciousness.

'o date, no illnesses have been reported.

The company issued a recall when they found out that some of their Wesco Mint No Bake Cookie Bites, which had peanut butter as an ingredient, were sold in packages that did not list peanuts as an allergen. They discovered that the error occurred because of a faulty product recipe in the new software system at the production site.

Consumers who have purchased Wesco Mint No Bake Cookie Bites with Sell Thru dates of 03/15/2024, 03/16/2024, 03/17/2024, 03/18/2024 are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
