Tome Corse Sheep Ottavi

Estancia Holdings of Cumming, GA is recalling one Lot of Tome Corse Sheep Ottavi due to a potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes.  

Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, a Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

On June 22, 2023 Estancia Holdings was notified by the French supplier that a wheel they received may be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes.

No illnesses have been reported to date. Wheels have Ottavi dairy label on top and are wrapped in clear plastic. 

One case from the affected Lot was imported the week of June 9th and it was sold the same week to a distributor in Portland, Oregon. All customers of the Portland, Oregon distributor that received cheese from the affected Lot, have been contacted by the distributor.

Consumers who have purchased this product should not consume it and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or discard the product.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration.
