Kowalski Simply Sides - Jack’s Potato Salad Container

Home Style Foods, Inc., based in Hamtramck, MI, is conducting a voluntary recall of 43 cases of “Kowalski Simply Sides - Jack’s Potato Salad” due to an incorrect label issue that led to the omission of an egg allergen in the product. Individuals with egg allergies or severe sensitivities are at risk of experiencing severe or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The affected Kowalski Simply Sides - Jack’s Potato Salad units were distributed in Michigan and were available at 25 retail locations, including 21 Kroger stores, Diamond Dot Market, Holiday Market Royal Oak, Larry’s Foodland, and Tenuta’s Market.

The recalled items can be identified by the label "Kowalski Simply Sides - Jack’s Potato Salad" on the top and front of the packaging, with a sell-by date of 04/29/2024. The back label, which should display the Nutrition Facts and Ingredients, incorrectly reads “Very Berry Strawberry” and is packaged in a 16oz round plastic deli cup.

Home Style Foods, Inc. has not received any reports of illnesses associated with the consumption of Kowalski Simply Sides - Jack’s Potato Salad.

The labeling error occurred during the filling process of the containers, and it was identified through a routine Quality Assurance review.

Customers are advised to return the product to the store of purchase for a full refund.

The recall is being carried out in cooperation with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
