Prowler Pro UTV

The Prowler Pro and Tracker 800SX Utility Vehicles (UTVs) have been recalled due to a safety issue where the fuel tank cap does not fit properly, leading to fuel leakage around the filler neck. This defect poses a potential fire hazard which can only be remedied with a repair.

The recall was announced on May 09, 2024. Approximately 10,300 units in the United States are affected, and an additional 1,000 units were sold in Canada.

The recall involves model years 2022 and 2023 Prowler Pro, Prowler Pro Crew, Tracker 800SX, and Tracker 800SX Crew utility vehicles. These vehicles were available in various colors such as green, gray, red, fossil, and timber. The names "Prowler" or "Tracker" can be found stamped on the side of the cargo box. To identify the model year, customers can check the 10th digit of the vehicle identification number (VIN), located on the operator side of the frame under the cargo box, which includes an “N” for model year 2022 and a “P” for model year 2023.

Customers are advised to stop using the recalled utility vehicles immediately and contact an authorized dealer for a free inspection and repair. Textron Specialized Vehicles is reaching out to all known purchasers directly.

The recall was issued due to 48 reports of incidents involving fuel leakage around the cap. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

These vehicles were sold at Arctic Cat and Tracker dealers nationwide, including popular retailers like Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, and independent dealerships, between April 2021 and September 2023. The price range for these vehicles was between $14,000 and $22,000.

Textron Specialized Vehicles, based in Augusta, Georgia, is the manufacturer of these utility vehicles, which were made in the United States.

The recall number associated with this issue is 24-229.
