GT LaBomba 24”

Due to a safety issue, GT is recalling about 3,040 of the GT Model Year 2019-23 LaBomba bicycles and framesets. The weld between the headtube and the downtube of the bicycle frame can crack and break, causing the rider to fall and get hurt. This recall is done in collaboration with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

If you own a GT LaBomba bicycle or bicycle frameset from Model Year 2019-23, you should check the top-tube of the frame for the word "LaBomba" painted on it. This indicates that your bicycle or frameset is affected by a recall and needs to be replaced by a GT dealer. Please do not ride your bicycle or frameset until you get a replacement.

Incidents/Injuries:

There have been five cases of damage to the weld that connects the headtube and the downtube of the bicycle, resulting in the headtube detaching from the rest of the frame. No one has been hurt by this defect.
